The Label Junkie

The Label Junkie was recently invited to participate in the NUS Fashion week and will have a booth at the fashion bazaar at NUS Central Forum from Thursday 20 Jan, to Friday 21 Jan, 12-5pm! We’ve quite a number of unreleased items only available at our bazaar store at 10% off! As well as lots of huge bargain deals, think 1 for $14, 2 for $24! Super cheap! There’ll also be a runway show on Friday 6pm where the NUSSU Pageant candidates will strut their stuff in our very own TLJ outfits! Do drop by if you’re in the area, remember to say hi! :)

Haven’t updated for a long time. I’ve been really really busy with the store, packing and stock taking, spring cleaning, launching CNY orient collections, flea market planning. I’ve been so exhausted I actually concussed for an hour upon reaching home today b4 finally pulling myself out of bed to continue with work! With the new year, I resolute to not slack off with TLJ and work my butt off, at least it shows I’m sticking to it! Here’s an entry on a brunch trip to Ardent’s Cafe, as you can see, they still have Christmas deco up so this is pretty backdated. lol. I guess what made Ardent special was the garden setting exterior which was really pretty but it was so hot that day so we settled for the cosy but really dim interior! We ordered rosti with sausage, caramel banana waffles with sauteed apples and two cappuccino.  Super worth the $15 for $30 worth of items deal we got from Groupon and they were yummy! :)

Can you believe I actually scrambled around my house and gathered anything RED to be used as props for our CNY shoot in just 10 mins!?! LOL, literally grabbed the vase of flowers off our shelf, unhooked the pineapple deco that was still hanged up, and almost tore down a super huge CNY poster. Haha, yes, they were all leftovers from last CNY and we haven’t even kept them yet! Lugged everything to the studio, people must have thought I was nuts! I bet my mum got a shock returning to an “empty” house with all the red items gone! It was all worth it though, happy with the pictures! So bright and so red, getting into the CNY mood as I edit these pics! With only less than 3 weeks left to CNY, we’ll be launching a series of orient collections on the TLJ site with lots of apparels suitable for both CNY & after! Stay tuned! :)

Spent the favorite holiday season of the year at two cosy house parties! On the eve, together with the bf and his brothers we whipped up a pretty delicious meal! Albeit simple, but at least we didn’t rely on the microwave and it was surprisingly good! Rest of the day was spent playing Cluedo and SC2. What else to do at the geek house! And on the 25th, the girls had a small house party at Tiffany’s and whipped up a microwaved dinner! LOL our cooking skills are too fail. It was a simple and cosy affair with lots of laughter playing Wii, catching up over dinner, exchanging presents and watching christmas shows till the wee hours! And yes, we were in red and green on purpose! Oh how i love christmas!

Sorry for the long overdue update! Haven’t had the time as I was in BKK the past week after chancing upon a super good deal from SQ, only $188!! Despite the flood and epidemic warnings, I knew I HAD to go! For those contemplating to go, you should! There’s not a single drop of water at the touristy shopping area. Both Chatuchak and Chinatown are fine and are open for business as usual! I had road side food every day and I am still alive and kicking! :) Anyway, back to the post, after a studio shoot one day, the bf and I decided to head to eM by the river at robertson quay as we were in the area! The place was mad packed! We only could get a seat by the bar, the sofa beds look so comfy though! While the he eggs royale were AWESOME, the pancakes, however, were terrible! Tastes like what you can get at Mr Bean instead of the usual fluffly pancakes. Would definitely head back as the ambience was awesome and we actually bumped into a friend working there :)

New arrivals up tonight at 8pm on The Label Junkie! Isn’t our new face pretty! :)

Two saturdays back, it was a really hot afternoon when we left the house for some picnic shopping. I remember thinking that it was too hot for a picnic, totally gonna faint from the heat! Lo and behold, right as we stepped foot into the botanic gardens, we heard thunder!!! -_- Really?! Despite the warning from the skies, we hastened our footsteps, found a nice area and set up our mini picnic! We barely sat down for 10 mins, and only took about 20 photos before it started pouring!! We haven’t even eaten yet! LOL hurriedly, we packed everything up & had to walk all the way back to the entrance where we came from. We did, however, have a blast having a picnic under shelter from then on. What an adventure. :)

startingwithapinch Asked:
Bring in more pants! Like those high waist pants you previously had but they're sold out! Love them!

My answer:

So glad you liked them! We’ll be going on a sourcing trip pretty soon and will definitely be looking out for more high waist pants! Thanks so much for the feedback! :)

Continuing my previous post on krabi, after phrah nang beach on day one, we took a boat short ride to Railay beach just next door as it was separated by a series of limestone walls! We weren’t that amazed at Railay as Phrah Nang was so much prettier! However, the sunset view was gorgeous so we chilled on the beach and then entertained ourselves with jumping shots, before finally returning back to Ao nang. We chanced upon a huge seafood restaurant right at the beach where we alighted from the boat, and it was a score! The food were so delicious! Pricier than other restaurants but still very affordable! With an awesome sunset view right in front of us, what more could we ask for? :)

Sneaks for new arrivals launch tonight at thelabeljunkie.com! :)

Finally caught Lion King at MBS Theaters! We were pretty lucky to still get seats as we caught it on the last few days! Nothing beats the authentic theater experience the bf and I had in London, but it was pretty good. Wonderful props, singing, choreography, but the 2nd half paled in comparison to the 1st! Made last minute supper reservations at Pizzeria Mozza just opposite and it was a total waste of $$. Our pizza took 45 mins to arrive because they burnt one and had to made another. After all that waiting, even after we specifically ordered it non-spicy, the spicy one arrived! What’s even better? All the manager could say was sorry, and didn’t even make any effort to appease us. Really? Is that how you do your business? Never ever going back again.

The Label Junkie new arrivals, tues, 15 nov, 9pm!

Had brunch with the girlfriends one weekend at Barracks Cafe and we all agreed the high tea buffet is so much more worth it! Nonetheless, the 7 layer pancakes was awesome, packed with nuts, cranberries, blueberries, blackberries and loads of maple syrup, it was yummy but extremely sinful! We also ordered the smoked turkey swiss skinny pizza as the smoked turkey canapes we had during the buffet was so good, but the pizza was full of vege and very little turkey ham! And as for the caramel banana cake, it was good but the portion was so small! Would definitely be back for the buffet instead! Oh and we met Jamie Yeo and her family who were dining next to us and she’s so pretty and friendly, her baby girl was so adorable!
