Brunch with the girls at Arbite a few weeks back! Looking at these pictures just made my mouth water! Haha, if you ever go there, the eggs benedict are a must! They’re so yummy! The breakfast set and caramel banana pancakes are okay, nothing extra special but still pretty decent! Plus the food and beverages there are pretty cheap as well! Surprisingly, it wasn’t packed on a Saturday afternoon! So we did what we did best, lazing the afternoon away, having a good chat over tea for a couple of hours. :)

Haven’t updated for a long time. I’ve been really really busy with the store, packing and stock taking, spring cleaning, launching CNY orient collections, flea market planning. I’ve been so exhausted I actually concussed for an hour upon reaching home today b4 finally pulling myself out of bed to continue with work! With the new year, I resolute to not slack off with TLJ and work my butt off, at least it shows I’m sticking to it! Here’s an entry on a brunch trip to Ardent’s Cafe, as you can see, they still have Christmas deco up so this is pretty backdated. lol. I guess what made Ardent special was the garden setting exterior which was really pretty but it was so hot that day so we settled for the cosy but really dim interior! We ordered rosti with sausage, caramel banana waffles with sauteed apples and two cappuccino. Super worth the $15 for $30 worth of items deal we got from Groupon and they were yummy! :)

Sorry for the long overdue update! Haven’t had the time as I was in BKK the past week after chancing upon a super good deal from SQ, only $188!! Despite the flood and epidemic warnings, I knew I HAD to go! For those contemplating to go, you should! There’s not a single drop of water at the touristy shopping area. Both Chatuchak and Chinatown are fine and are open for business as usual! I had road side food every day and I am still alive and kicking! :) Anyway, back to the post, after a studio shoot one day, the bf and I decided to head to eM by the river at robertson quay as we were in the area! The place was mad packed! We only could get a seat by the bar, the sofa beds look so comfy though! While the he eggs royale were AWESOME, the pancakes, however, were terrible! Tastes like what you can get at Mr Bean instead of the usual fluffly pancakes. Would definitely head back as the ambience was awesome and we actually bumped into a friend working there :)

Had brunch with the girlfriends one weekend at Barracks Cafe and we all agreed the high tea buffet is so much more worth it! Nonetheless, the 7 layer pancakes was awesome, packed with nuts, cranberries, blueberries, blackberries and loads of maple syrup, it was yummy but extremely sinful! We also ordered the smoked turkey swiss skinny pizza as the smoked turkey canapes we had during the buffet was so good, but the pizza was full of vege and very little turkey ham! And as for the caramel banana cake, it was good but the portion was so small! Would definitely be back for the buffet instead! Oh and we met Jamie Yeo and her family who were dining next to us and she’s so pretty and friendly, her baby girl was so adorable!

Few weekends ago, I had brunch with the girlfriends at Antoinette @ Mandarin Gallery! Was very much disappointed by the food. The Antoinette’s breakfast set was kinda worth it, comes with 3 pieces of bread & a drink on top of the main course for just $20, but it was average at best. The pancakes were absolutely terrible but the Scrambled Egg Gratin was surprisingly awesome! We also had a slice of Le Royale for dessert and it was fantastic! Will definitely come back for its cakes & macaroons the next time round! Yay to girlfriends time! :)

I know, I last said to update with pretty photos from Hokkaido, but after transferring 3200+ photos, it was such a chore to sort through. But I’ll get to it because the japan photos are sooo awesome! :) After the trip, I was really sick of japanese food and craved my favorite meal of the day - brunch. So the bf and I headed to Cafe Epicurious which boasted the best brunch in SG, but I was sadly unsatisfied. Both the eggs benedict and the pancakes were quite average, I should have went for the choco banana toast instead. :( Other than that, I wish I could have a red wall with frames of pictures like this, particularly love the black-white wedding photos! And also the corner with old school games, and how the little girl was having so much fun with the rocking chair!

One weekend, I was craving for brunch super badly and there were less than a handful of brunch places near my place in the east. So we settled for The Garden Slug which serves All Day Breakfast at Telok Kurau road hidden amidst the terrace houses! I thought the breakfast set with the usuals, sausage, scramble eggs and toast was average, but the salmon with runny scrambled eggs was AMAZING! Generous amount of smoked salmon coupled with super yummy scrambled eggs, will totally go back for more! Anyway, will be going Hokkaido tomorrow! Will be back with pretty travel pics lest this becomes a food blog! :)
Before my tumblr becomes an instagram (totally awesome!) feed, I thought I’d better get down to posting something for a change! So Tiffany and I took a break off work last Thursday to indulge in some high tea loving at Demsey House Barracks Cafe. Living the life of a tai tai for a day, we had a REALLY good high tea buffet in the middle of the day, and then splurged on shopping till all the shops closed. Ah, such is life.. Anyway, its really hard to only post 10 pics of such a pretty place, so here’s Part I - Barracks Cafe Outdoors. :)
Sunday brunch with the girlfriends at Spruce, Tanglin Road. It’s near town, but still extremely ulu & inaccessible! Nothing a cab ride can’t solve though. The food was average! I shared the eggs benedict on waffle & the banana pancakes while they had the english breakfast set. The food was ok, not too bad, but not that great either. But I thought the service was extremely atrocious! We wanted to change our seats after eating from the outdoors to the indoors to have some coffee and chat for a lil longer because it was freaking humid & they had lots of room indoors, but they refused and gave us a ridiculous excuse that the tables were for high tea ONLY. Great, so we brought our $$ elsewhere since it wasn’t appreciated there! We then headed to ION’s coffee bean for more coffee and chit chat, great day out :)
Two weekends ago, when my mum was away in hk with my sis and was deprieved of food, the bf & I made an impromptu trip to Hatched at Evans Rd for brunch! I love brunches, but srsly, why are they all so ulu! But the drive there was worth it because the pancakes were heavenly! It was really thick, fluffy, yet not dry. Plus they provided so much maple syrup for you to add to your own liking, and I love maple syrup. Hehe. However, I could only finish one piece before getting sick of it. The smoked salmon egg set (forgot the name) was even better! Very yummy. :)
